American International Auto Show

On the Beijing Auto Show of this year, GM reveals a brand new Cadillac ELR concept car. A few days ago, Forign media reported that GM has made sure that the Cadillac ELR concept car will be put into mass production, but the Specific Time is not revealed. The design of this brand new Cadillac ELR concept car is based on Cadillac Converj concept car. Launch X431

ncorporating the propulsion system from the Chevrolet Volt—the battery pack, the 120-kilowatt electric motor, and the four-cylinder engine-generator, collectively dubbed the “Voltec” electric propulsion system—the Converj concept has an all-electric range of 40 miles (64 km) and a top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h). The two-door, front-wheel-drive coupe recharges in only three hours using a 240-volt outlet, the type commonly used for large electric appliances .

the ELR will use a powertrain similar to the one currently found in the Chevrolet Volt. Meaning we can expect to see an all-electric range of about 35 miles. However, as the Volt is set to undergo several improvements for the 2014 model year, the ELR will likely also boast a greater all electric range than the current Volt models.

The ELR will be equipped with an electric propulsion system featuring a lithium-ion battery, an electric drive unit, and a four-cylinder gas-powered electric generator. Electricity is its primary source of energy, with the range-extending generator providing power when the battery is depleted.
